Over a century back, the vision & compassion of Dr. Vasudevan Unni, then palace physician of Sree Moolam Thirunal Maharaja of travancore, gave birth to a legacy of caring for the deprived masses. 

This led to him to believe that medication must be made more accessible to those who are deprived and are suffering. Being loyal to this legacy, since then, Vasudeva Group has been manufacturing Ayurvedic medicines to alleviate the sufferings of the ailing masses.

Our Ayurvedic Medicines are categorized into three major categories depending upon the base element used for them. 

Vegetable base, Animal base, and Mineral base

We manufacture the following types of medicines: 

ARKA - Distilled essences of various herbs

ASAVA & ARISTA - are alcoholic medicaments, prepared by allowing the juices or decoctions of raw drugs mixed with sugar to undergo fermentation.

BHASMA - are equivalent to calx, prepared by a process of calcination of drugs

CHURNA - are fine dry powders of drugs

GHRTA - are medicated ghee preparations which contains the fat soluble medicinal principles of the drugs used in the particular preparation.

GULIKA & VATI - are pills or tablets, made by rolling, between the fingers, a fine paste of the drugs ground for the particular period of time prescribed. The paste is prepared by grinding the drugs in a Mortar with the juices or decoctions of some drugs.

KSARA - are ashes of plant drugs on the derivatives of such ashes in the form of solutions or crystals, all of which have the basic quality of being alkaline.

KVATHA / KASHAYAM - are decoctions of various herbs, drugs.

LEHYA / RASAYANA - are tinctures or confections or thickened and sweetened extracts.

LEPA - are pastes or plasters intended for internal use only and could be equated with the ointments.

VARTTI / ANJANA / RASAKRIYA - are medicines that are applied to the eyes (colirium) and may be in the form of sticks, thick liquids and thin liquids.

PANAKA - are syrups of medicinal value.

SINDURA - are medicines containing mercury in the form of its red sulphide.

TAILA - are medicated oils. Usually in the preparation of taila, sesame oil is used. Coconut oil is used for hair, caster oil is also used for specific purpose. A combination of sesame oil, caster oil and ghee is very popular medicated oil for pizhichil and other Ayurvedic treatments.

These medicines are prepared under expert medical supervision and scientific management. Very strict quality control measures have been adapted in various stages of preparations – Raw material procurement, processing & packing.
