The Manufacturing Unit was established in 1884 in memory of late Sri N.Vasudevan Unni, palace Physician to late Sreemoolam Thirunal, Maharajah of Travancore and Superintendent of Ayurveda Patasala, Trivandrum. The institution grew up under the distinguished patronage of late Sri Dhanwanthari Das C.N.Narayanan Mooss, the foremost of the Ashta Vaidyas of Kerala. In this connection we remember with gratitude the foresight and the untiring efforts of late Sri N. Subramonian Unni, who set in motion the wheels of progress for the institution.

The relentless efforts of late Dr.S Vasudev and Dr.S Subharamanian Unni, the nursing home began in the year 1971. Now, it has more than one reason to be proud of the rare privilege bestowed upon it to take care of people from all walks of life in India and abroad. There are many tourists who visit the Nursing Home every year for a rejuvenation therapy and return satisfied.

The Nursing Home has been conferred the prestigious National Health Excellence Award, 1997, constituted by The Indian Economic Development and Research Association, New Delhi.

The manufacturing division, Vasudev Herbal Concentrates have the expertise in preparing Ayurvedic medicines in the traditional way under the expert supervision and scientific management. Stringent quality control measures are adopted in raw material procurement, preparation, packing & labeling.

The publication division Vasudeva Vilasam Publications has published many books, which are the reference texts for medical students and doctors. "DIABETES, KERALEEYA CHIKILSA KRAMAM, RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS, BRONCHIALASTHMA, HYPERTENSION" are some of books already published.

AYUR HEALTH CENTER was set up in the Silver Jubilee year with a specific objective of promoting Ayurveda by (1) Establishing out-patient centers through out India and abroad (2) Setting tip Traditional Ayurvedic Massage Treatment centers to uplift the physical, mental and spiritual health. The first such center was set up at the Nursing Home premises which provides free medical consultation from 8.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m. The Center also offers one time Traditional Ayurvedic Massage Treatment that is very popular among Business Executives, Professionals and Tourists. These institutions are now managed by a group of young professionals consisting Doctors, Engineers, Chartered & Cost Accountants and Management Experts. These young professionals are now setting new dimensions in Ayurvedic Health care keeping the traditional value and modernizing the system.
